Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal entity name] ("TumaCV", "we"). By using tumacv.co.ke you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use TumaCV.

1. What TumaCV does

TumaCV checks and scores CVs, helps you build and download CVs and letters, shows job adverts that ask for applications by email, and can send your applications and one follow-up on your behalf when you approve it. Job adverts come from public sources and from employers. We do not employ anyone listed and we are not a recruitment agency.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older and use TumaCV for your own job search, or with the permission of the person whose CV it is.

3. Your responsibilities

• Everything in your CV must be true. Don't add qualifications, employers or referees you don't have. Suggestions we make, including anything marked [like this], must be checked and completed by you.
• Only list referees who have agreed to be contacted.
• Read your application before approving it. You are responsible for what is sent in your name.
• Keep your Google account secure. Tell us if you think someone else is using your TumaCV account.

4. Sending on your behalf

When you approve an application, or turn on automatic sending, you authorise us to email that employer from "Your Name via TumaCV" with your CV attached, and to send one follow-up if you have turned that on. We limit how many applications go out each day, never send to the same employer email twice within 30 days, and stop sending to any employer who asks us to. You can turn sending off at any time in Settings.

5. No guarantee of a job

Scores and matches are guidance, not promises. We can't guarantee interviews, replies or employment, and we are not responsible for employers' hiring decisions.

6. Fake jobs and fees

We flag adverts that look risky, but we can't check every employer. Real employers do not ask you to pay to apply, for medicals, training or uniforms before hiring. Never send money to get a job. Report suspicious adverts to us at [support@tumacv.co.ke].

7. Acceptable use

Don't use TumaCV to send spam, to impersonate anyone, to scrape the site, to upload harmful files, or to break the law. We may suspend accounts that do.

8. Price

TumaCV is free today. If we introduce paid features, we will show the price clearly before you pay, and what you already had for free will not be taken away without notice.

9. Your content

Your CV and letters are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide TumaCV to you, as described in our privacy policy. Our templates, software and branding belong to us.

10. Limits of our liability

TumaCV is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost opportunities, or losses caused by employers, job adverts or third-party services. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2012.

11. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may close accounts that break these terms, and will tell you why.

12. Changes and law

We may update these terms and will tell you about important changes before they apply. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Kenya.
